Quotation | Thank God we live on a farm with a garden somewhere in the Gorenjska region, so quiet on Sundays, modest and ours. We wouldn't want to go anywhere else if only my cough didn't come back every spring and my husband wasn't so exhausted and pale. The doctors say we should go to the seaside. But I'm like that, I can't be without my children. Five heads on the Adriatic, that's a lot of money! Then a secret thought occurred to me: would I dare to appear before the women of Ljubljana, not with sermons (like Mihaëlis!!), but to recite a few of my modest poems, so that we could organise a literary evening together, perhaps with Lajovic, and I could get the money for the trip. If you, who know the atmosphere in Ljubljana, think that this is impossible, please let me know! And consider it between us! |
