| Quotation | The editorial board of the Children's Recreation magazine, and all those who sympathized with our publication, suffered a completely unexpected loss: on July 7, Ekaterina Vladimirovna Novosiltsova, known in literature under the name of T. Tolycheva, passed away. For us, this is a truly heavy loss. Loyalty in friendship is one of the best adornments of a person, and Ekaterina Vladimirovna was a loyal friend of all who worked in the same direction with her, a loyal friend of Children's Recreation, the pages of which were decorated with her work from the first issue of its existence to the July issue of this year inclusive, i.e. the issue of the month that was also the last month of her life. Possessing the gift of storytelling, full of good intentions and thoughts, she clothed words in images: thoughts of love, kindness and truth, and she carried out this feasible work for the benefit of children and ordinary people. Her life did not pass without leaving a trace, and like everyone who has worked for the benefit of man, she will live for a long time in the consciousness of everyone who gets her works, and she worked a lot, tirelessly, always afraid of idleness. And now her body is committed to the earth, her soul has appeared before the Supreme Judge, and the seeds she has thrown down are sprouting in the world from which she has just parted. And in this consciousness of real eternal memory lies the pledge of a double consolation: Christian joy in the certainty of spiritual immortality and earthly continuity of intellectual life. In this consciousness of real eternal memory lies a cheerful feeling calling for imitation. Work, and only work, expands the narrow boundaries of human life, and over the grave of the man who has worked, the feeling of gratitude bends with luxurious branches. And everyone is given this joyful opportunity, and no one dares to say that he is offended by fate: great will be the joy of the one who acquired ten talents for ten, great will be the joy of the one who acquired five talents for five, great will be the joy of the one who acquired two talents for two, and grief awaits only the one who buries his only talent in the ground. |
