Notes ['The article in the magazine Kansanvalistus 1.1.1918 says: "\'Pikku miehiä\' is the same kind of description about the world of boys as \'Pikku naisia\' was fro the world of girls. Little women are described in their home, little men has as their home the home of Mr and Mrs Baehr, an ideal correctional institution called Plumfield. There \'father\' and \'mother\' Baehr try with great love create out of ten strange boys and two of their own and of two little girl decent citizens, according to everyone\'s nature. Louise M. Alcott loves the age group that has often been foreign in literature. That\'s why she tries so hard to amuse and educate it. This educating part is often very easy to see - maybe even too much, but even the struggling grown up reader is soon won over. Unnoticed is the reader soon fighting among the characters for truth and justice. Shortly: although Alcott can be a bit boring, and although she teaches a lot, she is very amusing and educating and here and there she in in high level with her skills of description and child psychology. Recommendable for all friends of the children!" JWaug16']
