Provisional Notes | Ulrika Carolina Runeberg was the younger sister of the national poet J.L. Runeberg. Because her parents were dead, she lived for some time with her brother and his wife, Fredrika Runeberg. She also took part on the ”lauantaiseura” (Saturday club) and founded a school. She was the first Finnish woman who published an anthology of poetry in her own name. The anthology was crushed by critics, but it is said that it didn’t make her depressed. Jwapr14 |
