Her parents enrolled her in a French institute "Izoa", where she learned to read and write in the German and French language. After graduating from a school for teachers, she started working as a teacher in Jasenovo (in Banat).Together with her husband Zorka edited the "Srpska biblioteka" ("The Serbian Library"). Among other things, Zorka was also a chair-woman of the Czech women's association, an editor of various magazines, like "Ženski svet" (The Female World"), "Srpsko cveće" (The Serbian Flowers"), etc., and was a correspondent/collaborator "Srpkinja" ("The Serbian Woman"), the Serbian women's magazine.

Zorka was born in Novi Sad, in 1859. In 1883 she married Slavko Hovorka, a Czech doctor. They went to live and work together in Prague. The year of death is only a supposition.
The personal and professional information is extracted and translated from an article about Hovorka the magazine Srpkinja (1913), p. 35-36. The year of birth is correct, taken from (see p.36. However *the year of death is only a supposition, since this author was still alive at the year of the publication of Srpkinja.
