Born in Enebakk, Akershus as the daughter of Holm Jølsen and Pauline Lovise Holmsen. Unmarried.
Artist and writer. After being a student at Christiania Telefonselskab (Telephone Company), she was hired as a "telephone girl" in Christiania in 1896. She disliked the profession and soon moved back to Enebakk with her family.
