Unmarried. After her parents' death, she lived with her sister in Kristiania, Trondheim, Ofoten, Denmark and Hamar.

She was a writer of songs, poems and stories. She is most renowned as the writer of the Christmas carol "Jeg er saa glad hver julekveld".
