Helmi Krohn belonged to the famous Krohn-family of writers and academics. Her sisters were writers Aino Kallas and Aune Kallas. Helmi Krohn was a writer, a translator, a journalist, a chief editor and a copy editor. She was also a known spiritualist. JWfeb24 Helmi Krohn was the daugter of the professor Julius Krohn and her first wife Emma Nyberg. Her younger siblings were witers Aino Kallas and Aune Krohn. Helmi Krohn studied in the girl’s school but didn’t have courage to claim dispensation for studying in the university. She married professor E.N Setälä and helped him with her manuscripts and articles. She also worked as the subeditor of the cultural magazine Valvoja, which was edited at their home. Setälä wrote 39 works: novels, children's literature, memoirs, biographies. She also made translations and traveled a lot giving lectures. Krohn was also the editor of the children’s magazine Pääskynen. She was later a devoted spiritualist. Jwapr14
