Enkele literaire critici prezen Cornélie Noordwal, maar het merendeel van de scribenten verfoeide haar werk, terwijl de publieksgunst alleen maar groeide. Men hield van haar geestige romans, van haar ironie, haar talent om levens te beschrijven en van haar vermogen te ontroeren.
Van Intra Nos verschenen maar liefst zeven drukken, andere titels werden in de regel drie, vier keer herdrukt. Gedurende zo'n 25 jaar was haar werk courant. (Damescompartiment, see link).
