Married to pastor Fredrik Julius Emil Gjør in 1872.

She was the most prominent leader of Norway's first and biggest women's movement, the Mission Union Movement for Women, in the 19th Century. She was also the editor of a missionary women's magazine called "Missionslæsning for Kvindeforeninger".
