Hilda Joonantytär orphened at an early age. She moved to Helsinki to study. When she converted to eastern-orthodox at the end of 1880's she changed her name to Eugenia Ivanovna. She was eager activist in the labor movement and after the war she was imprisoned. She succeed fleeing to Soviet Union where she continued writing. Unfortunately she was suspended from the Union of writers because of her ”bourgeois nationalism”. Jwapr14
