Hanna Ongelin studied in the girl’s school and in the drawing school. Most of her life she worked as a free writer. She wrote entertaining novels, among other things horror stories but also feministic literature. She was known as a caricature of a female bohemian; she had short hair, she smoked and became and alcoholic. Later she was forced to publish her books by her own and sell them from door to door.
